2. How does Vietnam Airlines apply airfare conditions?
2.1. Conditions & change fees of Vietnam Airlines (*)
- For domestic flights
2.2. General regulations on ticket conditions of Vietnam Airlines
In addition to the conditions for each ticket class, Vietnam Airlines also has other general regulations. You can refer to some information as follows:
- Conditions on ticket changes: Vietnam Airlines stipulates that ticket changes include changes to flight itinerary, flight date and time, excluding changes to full name (except adding or removing the word "Thi"). In addition, you are only allowed to change to a new itinerary with a ticket price equal to or higher than the current itinerary.
- Conditions on ticket refunds: Vietnam Airlines applies refunds to all classes, except Economy Saver. If you buy a round-trip ticket and have used 1 leg (outbound or return), when you want to refund the ticket, you can still refund the remaining leg but will have to pay a fee.
- Price combination: Ticket prices are allowed to be combined. The strictest conditions apply.
- Change fee: If you want to change multiple flights, Vietnam Airlines will apply the highest fee for the changed flights. The change fee paid is non-refundable in all cases.
- Upgrade conditions: You will be allowed to upgrade if there are seats available. For upgrades, you will have to pay the fare difference (from old ticket to new ticket) plus the upgrade fee.
2.3. Airfare for children/infants of Vietnam
- Children under 2 years old: = 10% of adult fare
- Children from 2 years old to 12 years old = 90% of adult fare for domestic flights, 75% of adult fare for international flights
Children who are 2 years old or older are calculated based on their birthday (before the date of birth, they are considered younger than 2 years old, on the date of birth and after the date of birth, they are considered older than 2 years old)
Note:
In case the child flies out before his/her 2nd birthday and returns after his/her 2nd birthday, the airline will still calculate the age based on the departure date of the first leg.
